Elevate at DEN: Designing the Next Generation of Travel Convenience

Denver International Airport (DEN) continues to evolve how travelers experience airport-adjacent infrastructure. According to the official announcement from Denver International Airport, construction has begun on Elevate, a new travel convenience center developed in partnership with Aaravya Investments along the Peña Boulevard corridor near 75th Avenue. Approved by Denver City Council in 2023, Elevate is designed to meet growing demand at one of the busiest airports in the world—while improving access, flow, and amenities for passengers, drivers, airport employees, and the surrounding community.

A New Standard for Airport-Adjacent Convenience

Sitting on 5.49 acres of DEN property, Elevate redefines what a travel convenience center can be. Rather than functioning as a simple fuel-and-go stop, the development is positioned as a multi-use destination that balances speed, comfort, and hospitality.

Planned features include:

  • 48 fueling positions under solar canopies
  • A two-story convenience store with a national coffee brand and drive-thru
  • Express tunnel car wash
  • Electric vehicle (EV) charging stations
  • A publicly accessible cell phone waiting lot
  • Secure parking for car-sharing platforms like Turo
  • Complimentary shuttle service to and from the Jeppesen Terminal
  • A dog park and rentable conference room

Inside the building, On the Rise Kitchen will offer fresh, healthy food options, while the second-floor On the Rise Bar and Lounge features a rooftop deck with views of the surrounding landscape—creating space for travelers to pause, not just pass through.

Designed Around Real Traveler Needs

One of Elevate’s most impactful design decisions is the relocation of the cell phone waiting lot to the south side of Peña Boulevard, improving inbound access and reducing congestion. This change directly responds to public feedback and reflects a broader trend in travel center design: solving friction points through smarter site planning.

Successful convenience environments don’t just respond to traffic counts—they respond to behavior. Elevate demonstrates how infrastructure, circulation, and amenities can work together to reduce stress and improve the overall travel experience.

Sustainability Built Into the Infrastructure

As DEN works toward its goal of becoming one of the greenest airports in the world, Elevate supports that mission through measurable sustainability commitments. The project is targeting LEED Gold standards, incorporating:

  • Solar arrays integrated into fuel canopies
  • Water reclamation systems at the car wash
  • Energy-efficient systems throughout the site

Here, sustainability isn’t treated as an add-on. It’s part of the operational backbone—supporting long-term efficiency while aligning with modern traveler expectations.

Community-First Development

Developed by Aaravya Investments, a minority-owned operator with more than 20 years of experience, Elevate also reflects a commitment to inclusive economic participation. More than 75% of Aaravya’s workforce identifies as women or minorities, and the company actively engages underutilized businesses as part of its operating model.

This community-first approach aligns with a growing expectation that large-scale convenience and travel projects serve more than just throughput—they serve people.

What Elevate Signals About the Future of Convenience Retail

Projects like Elevate point to a clear shift in the convenience and travel center category:

  • Convenience is no longer just about speed—it’s about quality, comfort, and choice
  • Design is no longer cosmetic—it’s strategic, operational, and revenue-driving
  • Brand perception is shaped on-site, through experience, not advertising

At Paragon, we view Elevate as a strong example of how thoughtful design, clear brand vision, and operational clarity can transform utilitarian real estate into destination-driven environments.

Scheduled for completion in summer 2026, Elevate represents more than a new facility at DEN. It serves as a blueprint for how airport-adjacent convenience can evolve to meet the expectations of modern travelers.
